The Latest News On The Coal Ash Spill in Eden, NC | WUNC

WUNC's website leaves so much to be desired. This link is now buried. Why doesn't it contain all of these?

WUNC | Bringing the world home to you.

The last couple of times that I've tried to play WUNC from my laptop, the audio has not worked at first and I've had to fiddle with downloads, etc. Of course, as is so typical of this station, there is no help offered on the site for problems like. What, you think we should be customer-oriented?

Natural Gas Drilling in North Carolina: Impacts of Fracking on Health, Water | NRDC

I find it hard to believe - in the same spirit as my comment about the Gov. McCRORY "news" item on WUNC - that this James TAYLOR message is somehow worthy of a press release just because the NRDC has paid to place it on various television stations in the state. My views on fracking are not relevant; nor should they be for WUNC, but more important, is something news just because someone pays to say it? If so, at least every political message deserve a news "story", no? How about that woman who attacks Sen. HAGAN over the Affordable Health Act? Who is she? Why not a story about her message? (I'd love to know who she is so I could be sure not to go to any film in which she might appear!)

Search | WUNC

I'd love to see WUNC do some actual investigative reporting on the NC Governor. For example, why did WUNC run what I imagine a press release from the Governor's office lauding his 45 second appearance on "national" TV for anyone watching Sunday AM? Where is the WUNC piece laying out his relationship wit Duke Energy, whether he recuses himself, whether he owns any shares, etc?

Charity Navigator - Your Search Results

Hmmm. Why is WUNC not here?

And, by the way, exactly how are the winners of the station's travel lotteries selected? What, specifically, is done to select these winners? Pieces of paper in a hat? Algorithm?

The News & Observer and WUNC

In listening to WUNC describe a News & Observer story just now, it occurred to me that WUNC could very well become the audio voice of the newspaper with little effort. The announcers on WUNC simply read copy as it is, and often with errors, so working with a professional news organization would be good for everyone. WUNC could reduce its staff, the N&O would get more exposure, and, most important, we would all be so much better served.
