Charity Navigator

I sent this on 19 April to the main WUNC e-mail address, and no response:
"I don’t seem to be able to find WUNC on Charity Navigator  Can you help me locate it there?"

News | WUNC

Either there has been no news for the last 30 hours, or WUNC simply does not cover whatever may have happened in whatever they consider to be the market they are licensed to serve.

BBC World Service - Newshour, 24/04/2014

The "world's radio station" is a great moniker for the BBC. You can listen to Newshour here.

Now Cleared, Alert Carolina Sirens Sound On UNC-CH Campus With Reports Of Armed Person Near Campus | WUNC

And the rest of the story? Or because this happened at the weekend, is this no longer an item for the massive WUNC newsroom to address?

UNC sirens

It would seem to me that WUNC ought to have a "reporter" on duty 24/7 so that the station can do more than read postings off the UNC website when there is an emergency, for example. How many people work on WUNC? Is no one ever working on the weekend that know whether the news pyramid is right-side up or inverted? For radio, they don't even have to be able to spell!

The Latest News On The Coal Ash Spill in Eden, NC | WUNC

How refreshing to see something done as well as this continuing coverage appears to be. Did I miss a mention of it on-air or on WUNC's home page?

Ash Spill Shows How Watchdog Was Defanged -

With all the money WUNC raises, one would think - as I do - that the station could do some first-rate, in-depth, multiple media reporting on major issues. Even if all of the words of this article don't get said on the air, a story such as this could have been researched and written by someone else. Whether WUNC would ever hire such a person - and give her or him free reign to report - remains an open question.

WUNC | Bringing the world home to you.

The last couple of times that I've tried to play WUNC from my laptop, the audio has not worked at first and I've had to fiddle with downloads, etc. Of course, as is so typical of this station, there is no help offered on the site for problems like. What, you think we should be customer-oriented?

Natural Gas Drilling in North Carolina: Impacts of Fracking on Health, Water | NRDC

I find it hard to believe - in the same spirit as my comment about the Gov. McCRORY "news" item on WUNC - that this James TAYLOR message is somehow worthy of a press release just because the NRDC has paid to place it on various television stations in the state. My views on fracking are not relevant; nor should they be for WUNC, but more important, is something news just because someone pays to say it? If so, at least every political message deserve a news "story", no? How about that woman who attacks Sen. HAGAN over the Affordable Health Act? Who is she? Why not a story about her message? (I'd love to know who she is so I could be sure not to go to any film in which she might appear!)

Search | WUNC

I'd love to see WUNC do some actual investigative reporting on the NC Governor. For example, why did WUNC run what I imagine a press release from the Governor's office lauding his 45 second appearance on "national" TV for anyone watching Sunday AM? Where is the WUNC piece laying out his relationship wit Duke Energy, whether he recuses himself, whether he owns any shares, etc?

Charity Navigator - Your Search Results

Hmmm. Why is WUNC not here?

And, by the way, exactly how are the winners of the station's travel lotteries selected? What, specifically, is done to select these winners? Pieces of paper in a hat? Algorithm?
